STOLEN CAR IN SMASH
Collision With Stationary Vehicle DRIVER DISAPPEARS A collision b'etweea a car, reported tp Have been stolen, and a stationary car occurred in Tomoana road, Hastings, at 11.30 o'clock last night, and the only person (the driver of the alleged stolen vehicle) who can give the Hastings police any informatipn is missjng. The first intimation the police received of the aceident was when Mr Mayo, of Tomoana road, advised them by telephone that an unknown car had crashed into his car, which was parked outside the residence. An investigation lpd tp the discovery of the eecond car near the scene of the aceident. Later in the morning the police were advised by Mr N". Johpson, of Tomoana, that his car had been removed overnight from his place of residence, and it was then ascertained that it was this vehicle that was concerned in the aceident. It is obvious that immediately after the collision the driver hurried away from the sceno, and though intensive inquiries were made this morning the police have been unablo to establish hjs identity.
