Gillespie, Wairoa, for the carnival, Mr B. Pimley , York road, Hastings, was elected a member of the Hawke's Be,y A. and P. Society at an execqtiv© meeting to-day. The Rev. W. S. G. Cameron, formerly of Porangahau, and Mrs Cameron and family have taken up resideqce at St. Andrew's vioarage, Port Ahqriri. An induction service will he conducted on Sunday by Dean Brocklehmat The Rev. G. C. Blathwayt, vloar of Island Bay for the last 17 yeafa, has been appointed vicar of the paroohiai district of Manaia, and will be. sueceeded at Island Bay by the Rev, J, R. Neild, vicar of the paroohiai district of Paraparaumu. The Rev. H. B. Goertz, vicar of the Pohangina parochial district, will succeed the Rev. J. R. Neild at Paraparaumu. Mr C. R. Allen, of Dunedin-, has received advice from the Marquia de ChampVans de Faremount, presiclent of the Institut Litteraire de France, that he has been awarded the silver medal of the institute. The award has been made in recognition 0f his literary work over a nqmber of years, and specifically for his several novels publisned abroad.
