Confiscation of Leaflets Explained
LONDON, Feb. 3. In the House of Commons, Mr Gallacher asked on whose instructiona plain-clothes police were called to thp Unicorn Gate at Fortsmouth Dockyard on January 27 to eonfiscate leaflets relating to the recent dismissals at Sheerness and Devonport, which were being distributed there. The First Lord of the Admiral^, Sir Samuel Hoare, replied that the naval authorities had beon informed of the intention to distribute the leaflets, the dissemination of which would be contrary to regulations. They dtew the attention of the Portsmouth City police, who were responsible for the action.
