Man Killed in Blastirig Operations

CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night, Struck 6n the side of the head by a piece of rock about four incb.es in dia- '• meter which was thrown np during i blasting operations at the Summit road ' quarry Eobert Grice, aged 42, an employee of the Public Works Department, died this afternoon in the Christchurch Bospital. Grice was a married man with seven children living in Kenilworth street, Addington. The accident occurred in the morning when large boulders were being; broken up. Grice was sitting under a ledge at the other side of • the quarry, and the stone, was thrown over a. pilflii of rock 130 feet high and struck on the head, . ... . — . t , ' y
