Japan Buys Freely MARKET VERY FIRM (Received 3, 8.45 a.m.) SYDNEY, Feb. 2. At the wool saies 11,993 bales were offered and 10,740 eold, also 2522 privately. There was strong Continental and Yorkshire competition and moi'e extensxve support from Japanese buyers. The market for all descriptions was very firm at the cloeing rates o£ last week. Greasy Merino sold to 37id. The average price of wool last week Was £22 12/3 per bale or 18.3d. per lb.
