EX-SOLDIERS' RELIEF
Reduction oi Payments following the announcement in Friay's issue of the ' ' Herald-Tribune ' ' hat war veterans receiving allowances vqre to be ineligible for unemployment elief benefits as from Saturday, the .linister of Labour, the 'Hon. H. T. u'mstrong, has instrueted that the men ■ffeeted will be allowed reduced Telief ayments. for eaeh of the four weeks n February. The reason for this concession being uade is that it was found that the u'evious deeision resulted in inany of hose concerned being without income .rom the last week in Janvf-"ay until the date of the monthly pension payment at the full rate late in February. The Minister of Labour has now authorised the granting of reduced unemployment relief payments at the maximum rate of 10/- per week for single men and 15/- per week for married men for each of the fonr weeks in February. These are the maximum rates whieh may be paid without adversely affecting their veterans' allowance. Those personss concerned are advised to make application for the above benefits in the usual manner at their local Employment Bureau.
