MR WILLIAM F. YOUNG
Formerly a leading bass singer and •iocutionist, Mr. William Farqubar Young died yesterday in Christchurch. He was known tkroughout the Dominion for his performanees in Scottish and Irxsb concerts and, until recently, eang and spoke over the air. He was recognised as having one of the finest bass voices of his time and refused jnany offers to jojn opera compames and go abroad. He was for many years In tbe Post and Telegraph Service and Was tbe first president of tbe Post and Telegraph Officers' Association. He Was mainly responsible for tbe estabJishment of a superannuation system for tbe Post and Telegraph. Department.
