All applications must be lodged with the Couft hy Mofiday, February 1, and there has been a lasthiinute rush in Hastings from persons affected by the new legislation. , Lawyers have had an exceptionaliy busy period in their efforts to deal With the fiood of applications on whieh they have been instructed to aCt. Yet there are still a number of people whib have delayed their applications and apparently dd not fealise the fact that, ufii©ss they make application, they wili not be eutitled to receive further reiief. While the Adjustment doinmissiofi has power under the present legislation to make orders in respect of applications, appeals from its judgments may he made to the Court of Review. This, it is linderstood revferses the procedilr© fdlloWed in fortfief legislation by whieh the Commission made recommendations only to the Court of Review.
