NO TEST MANAFER
!/ AUSTRALIAN BOARD'S DECISION Contrary to expectations, the Board of Control, at its meeting a fortnight ago, decided against the idea of appointing a manager to look after the interests of Australian pxayers when Tests are being played in cities away from their homes. The board did decide, however, that all visiting players in a Test team shall in future stay at the. same hotel, and not be scattered about as they have been in the past. The suggestion for the appointment of a manager was made as a result of what occurred during .the Brisbane Test, when, because of a rush of visitors to the city, some of Australia's players had difficulty in arranging accommodation, and had to make makeshift arrangements for a time. The board was blained by some people for this, but the trouble was really brought about by the players themselves, who had asked the board to allow them to make their own arrangements, and had been doing so for some years. The position in Brisbane was exceptional, for in addition to the Test crowds there was a large contingent of woolbuyers from au over the world, and they took up much of the accofnmodation in a city iv. whj>b accommodation is more limited lhan in places like Sydney and Melbourne. All the same, the board's clecision to have all the players at the one hotel is a wise one. The board will reserve this accommodation, and QU trouble should be at an end.
