ENGLISH OPINION
MEMORIES OF SPRINGBOKS All English cricket e'yes — or nearly all — are focussed on Australia and the Tests, but there are some already contemplating the next English season as «syell, and, of course, the visit of the New Zealanders. One of these is "Watchman," of the Sunday Observer. He says: — "The visit of the New Zealanders will not set our pulses jumping, us is supposed to be the case when the Australians come here; out in these days, when England's supremacy, even apart from Australia, has temporarily been dethroned, we cannot alford to treat their tour lightly. It is not easy to forget tnat the South Africans beat us on our own ground for the first time in their history two seasons ago, that the West Indies won the last rubber, and that the New Zealanders had the better of the games drawn in the 'unofficial' Test matches played agairnst the M.C.C.'s touring side last year. And, even if New Zealand does not prove itself to be stronger than when lt came in 1931, the visit will introduce to us new personalities and broader interest, and add to the summer's variety."
