Aero Club Meets at Dannevirke

DANNEVIRKE, Last night. The Wairarapa-Ruahine Aero Club held a meeting in Dannevirke last night to stimulate interest in flying. There was a splendid attendance, mostly of young men, some of whom are already undeTgoingg instruction av the Dannevirke aerodrome. Mr. A. McDonald, president of the clnb, took the chain ■ Thepresident stressed that in the interests of the country all young people should take up flying. While he did not wish to discuss war, he had no esitation in saying that aviation would be the main defenee, and really the only defenee of New Zealand. During an infonnal discussion later the need for a club house at the aerodrome was pointed out. The president thought there would be a ready response to an appeal for subseriptions tOAvards the cost of erecting such a buildingg.
