End oi February The new wing of the Hawke's Dav Art Gallery and Museum in Napier is n ow expected to be completed by the end of February, although tlie finisking date was set in. the contvact at before last Christmas. The new Dcrtion of the building will not contain wall panelling or ceiling for the present; it is hoped that sufficient funds wiJl be raised , later to complete this work. k The committee is making an elfort to secure on loan or by gift to the uiuseuui several of the caricatures by .W. A. Bowring, who once lived in Napier. He was famous for his caricatures. There are several Napier tesidents who also have copies. It is hoyed to obtain a representative coliection for the c/pening of the new portion oi the building. The stamp colledtion presented by tlie Postmaster-General has now tieeu fuljy arranged by Mr. Allan Beck, and there reinaius but oue set of stamps 10 complete tlie section before 1880. These are a set of eariy New Zealand issues of Victorian stamps, known as fullfaced qiieens, and it is lioped that they may be obtained locally.
