Enjoyable Outing At Black Bridge The Hastings and Napier combincd butc-hers' annual pienic was held at Black Bridge, Haumoana. The weather was all that could be desired, and this no doubt accounted for the large attendance. . The children were well .catered for with ice cream, soft drinks, svveets and toys. Raees were arranged for all ages, and goGd prizes weje awarded. Following are the results of the races : — Junior boys, J. Hepburn 1, J. Boyd 2; junior girls J. Corby V. Pearce 2; single men, G. Ryan, A. Cowley 2; single women, Miss B. Thompson 1, Miss L. Wilson 2; marriey men, C. Gordon 1, W. Thompson 2; mari'ied women, Mrs A. Kirkman 1? Mrs I). Scarfe 2 ; three-legged race, Miss B. Thompson and G. Hope 1, Mrs A. Kirkman aud E. Nuttall 2 ; master butchers' *'race, El. Thompson 1, A. Cuminings 2.
