Mr and Mrs H. T. Hanlon, who liave been on a visit to Mrs McLeod, Sealy road, left for Palmerston North aud Yranganui to-day, Mrs Trevor Prosser, Hastings, is paying a holiday visit to Wairoa and Gisborne. Her'sister, Miss Khoda Holt, who has held a position at 5the Mayo Clinic in America, will join her in England. Mr T. G. Buchannan, Napier, and Mr M. Buchannan, Westport, leave to-day on a visit to Taupo. Miss Archer, Christchurch, wlio ls on an extended visit to Mrs T. G. Buchanan, Helhi road, Napier, is at preeent vihiting Taupo.
A national restaurant compauy decided that it would be a good thing to have someone to go about New York "restaurant shopping," just as department stores employ slioppers to clieck the prices and qualities offered by competitors. So Miss Anna Martin became their professional " eater-outer. ' ' All day long, six days a week, she visits reetaurants and hotels, ordering xneals and eating 'them, malcing observations about the food, service, prices and portions.
