RICH MAGNOLIA SATIN WORN BY THE BRIDE
ADAMS — KING St Matthew's Church, Hastings, was beautifully decorated with large bowls of gold and bronze dalilias witn matching posies tied with wliite satin bows on each pew, for the wedding last even- ^ ing of Alvera, eldest daugnter of Atr and Mrs W. Hing, Beresiord Bcrcet, Hastings, and Jonn, eldest son of Mr and Mrs W. Adams, "Waipukurau. Canon C. ilortioier-J oues onicaated at the ceremony and Mr 0. B. Spinney presided at the organ and played the wedding marehes and the hymn, "The Voiee that Breathed U'er Eden." A lovely gown of riokest magnoiia satin royale was worn by the bricie who looked charming as slie entered the church with her father. Her gown was beautifully cut, slim-fitting to Ihe knees with insec panels sliirred at the top to give added fullness. The back panels tormed a graceful oval train. The corsage had a pointed cowled yoke edged witu accOrdion pleating and worn high at the neck, the back being iinished with tiny loops and buttons. The sleeves were full and shirred at the shoulders and were caught into a nariow band at the wrist. The waistline was delined with a wide stitched belL and satin-coveyed buckle. Her exquisitely embroidered veil was arranged with a halo of wax^lilies and orange blossom and fell to foroi a secornl train. Magnolia-tinted satin shoes were worn and ske carried a bouquet of cream roses, pink sweet peas arni maidenhair fern. The only bndesmaid was Miss Alma ' Adams, srster of the bridegroom, whu wore an attraetive gown of cream georgette patterned with pink roses. The front of the corsage was sliirred and caught with a diaiuante pin, and the panoiled skirt had waterfall friiJs back and front, being narrow at the waist and gradually widening as they fell to the heui. A narrow belt with a dianiante buckie was wrorn at the waist and the sleeves were long and full, being Iinished at the wrist with a narrow cuif. Bhe wore silver sandals and a silver halo trinmied with tiny pink and blue flowers aud carried a bouquet of .pink and cream roses arranged with maidenhair fern. Mr V. King, broth'er of the bride, carried out the duties of best nian, and Messrs J, Kiug'and W. Eaunde'rs vverf ushers. A very jolly reception was held at tlie Selphast tearooms, where flowers in _ pink and cream shades were artistically arranged. The wedding cake whicli was niade by tlie bride 's aunt, Mrs 01sen, was iced in magnoiia shade and • stood in the centre of the bridal table. The guests were recei.od by Mrs ' King, mother of the bride, assisted by Mrs Adams, the bridegroom 's mother. Mrs King wore a navy ensemble, the frock liaving a wliite tucked vest trimmed with navy and white buttons. Shc . wore a smart navy hat and navy acces- I sories and caTried a pink shaded bou- | quet. Mrs Adams ' • navy and white floral frock was worn with a navy three-quarter coat and navy hat and her bouquet wus of flowers in golden shades, Wlion the bride and bridegroom lefi for their honeymoon, the bride travell ed in a navy self-striped tailored cos tume under wliieh was worn a whiti frilly georgette blouse. She wore a navy breton sailor hat, navy suede shoes and gloves and carried a navv purse. Among the many beautiful presents Vas a crystal water jug and glasses, a gift from the staff of the Central Hawke's Bay Power Board where Mr Adams is an employee. Among the relatives present were Mrs Kyder (Timaru), Mrs and Miss "VVales (Wellington), Mrs Waies (Auckland), Mr and Mrs Y. L. King, Miss Sharpin, Mr and Mrs L. Adams, Mrs Olsen, Mr and Mrs J. Jeffery, .Mr and Mrs Saunders, Mr and • Mrs L. Brassington, Mr and Mrs Sharpin.
