CLUB SWIMMING

Heretaunga Executive Meets The weekly meeting of the executive of the Heretaunga Swimming Club was held last night, Mr. L. J. Msher presiding over a good attendance. It was decided to hold on Thursday night the followingv distances: — Final distances of Perkis Cup, junior boy3, 75 yards; Perkis ° intermediate, 100; Campbell Cup, girls, 75; second distance Auderson Cup, women, 75. In addition, the heats only of the Crooks Cup, mon, 50 and 220 yards, will be held, the nnals of both distances to be swum on the Friday night 's programme. The remainder of Friday 's programme was adopted as follows: Final distance Anderson Cup, women, 100 yards; first distance Campbell Cup, junior and intermediate boys, 50 yards; junior boys and girls, each 50 yards; B grade, 50 yards; open consolation handicap, 100 yards; novice, B grade and senior diving and teams xace. It was further decided to invitc the Napier club 's polo tepm to play a friendly match. , Preliminary arrangements were made covering the open inter-club carnival on Tuesday, February 9, at which the visiting Australians will be competing. and a programme was drawn up, The Hawke's Bay centre advised that Mr E. D. Beiry had been appointed to referee the challenge polo matches against Havelock to-morrow tight at Havelock. f Mr E. Little reported that his work^ ing party. during the week-end had given the pool a heavy eoat of white snowcrete, which had greatly enhanced the appearanee of the baths. Mr F. West tendered his resignation as a member of the club and committee owing to the fact that he leavee for Wellington to take up a new appointment early next week. In accepting the resignatipn with sincere regret, the cliairman made reference to Mr West's sterling work for the club over a long period of years, during which his lovalty had always been a line example to the vounger members. The meeting wislied Mr West every suecess and happiness in his mew activities.
