WANSTEAD LAMBS Bright Market To-day at Waipukurau iATE RATES MAINTAINED Another bright market prevailed toi store lambs at Waipukurau today. when a yarding of 9,000 was ' cffered. Late values were fully maintaiued. with the market steady to firm and showing very little chamre. Quality lines in forward order *hct -with active competition. An excepUonal entry of hlack-faced lambs on account of Mr H. Parsons topped the Hawke's Bay market for the season hy reaiising 22/11. Cood fcrward rape lambs brought to 21/6. Shorn entries appeared to ineefc with a quieter sale, with the values possitly showing an easing tendency. a particularly good •hown entry from Porangahau brought ,18/7, being the top line. in the offtring. Small-grown lines off hard conntry made pariicUarly good saies; tha quality was a sliglit improvement cn 3ate saies; Fat and forward wethers in particularly good order brought to 25/7. The fat-sheep section drew laTgc entries, with last week's values woil maintaiued. The cattle entry again was exceptionally «,mall, being confuied io a tew miscellaneoiis pens. Eealisaticns were as under:— cattle. An aged heavy Jersey cow met with 5 slow sale at £4 16/-. On account * of Mr. S. M.Aldridge, fiye medium young Aberdeen-Angufc eows, quite well finished, brought £7 17/6. 5 On account of the same vendor, a pen of simiiaTly-bred older fows, a cseful iighter medium line, realised £6 Two two-year-old Aberdeen-Angns •teers from the same source, quite well grown, made £8. Also on account of Mr. Aldridge, a pen of six quite well-grown yearling Aberdeen-Angus s teers, in good order, made £6 12/6. On account of the A. J. Cameron Estate, 24 well-grown, cleambred three-year-old Aberdeen-Angus heiferts, running with an Aberdeen-Angus bull •ince Nbvemher, brought £8 18/-. The five-year-old bull running with Ihe previous entry of heifers made £9. FAT SHEEP. Six medium to heavy '/vrly shorn prime wethers brought 26/-. A pen of 21 small to medium blackfaced lambs, of medium quality, made 20/7. On account of Mt. J. Jones, Porangahau, 75 well-grownj e&rly-shorn, primequality wethers, in good order, brought 26/11. From the same source, an entry of 63 lighter-finished wethers made 26/5. Two woolly, prime, heavy lambs brought 25/10. An extra-heavy prime ewe lamb made . 28/3. • Two Down-cross heavy two-tooths in •xtra prime order made 27/3. Two extra-heavy woolly prime-qual-ity lambs, particularly well done, made 28/9. * Six early shorn, medium to heavy, well-done, prime ewes made 20/9. A heavy prime-quality woolly wether lamb, well done, made 28/3. A similarly-finished ewe lamb made W1' Eleven medium to heavy, woli-qone, prime, black-faced lambs, a quality line, made 25/8. Eight heavy, extra well-done, prime, black-faced lambs were soright after to bring 28/5. . Eour very prime similaTly-bred lambs made 28/3. Thxee heavy, choice-quality wethers, an attractive offering, brought 28/-. In from Otane, 80 medium ewes oi average quality were passed at 17/10. Thirty small-grown, black-iaced lambs, medium iinished, brought 19/3. , STOKE SREEP. On account of Mr H. P. Hole, Ha tuma, 300 black-faced rape lambs, qu;.te well grown, a good-doing line whic should fatten readily, manu 19/ 1. On account of Mr E. T.- ivuru. Porangahau, 246 quite well-grown shorn white-faccd lambo, in good store ordei, brought 16/6. On account of Motueka Statien, an entry of 400 smalJ-grown quite carJyehorn white-faced wethcr liimbs, lignt. in hnish but iu ixardy order and sliouid carry over well, brought 12/7. These % lambs had come off seeuy country, being emothered with seed. From the -same source 367 ewe lair.hs out of the draft, similarly grown, small *nd not attractive, brought 21/- in » slow sale. In from the Wallingford district, 187 small-grown white-faced woolly wether lambs, ih rather poor order, were also slow of sale to raake 15/6. On account of Mr A. F. Cook, Waipukurau, 233 well-grown black-faced Tape lambs, in forward order, m ere passed at 21/--An entry of 351 well-grown earlyshorn 2-tootk wethers, in forward condition and bright, attractive order, realised 23/10. On account of Mr L. M. Monckton, 29d well-grown early -shorn 4-tootli wethcis, in excellent forward condition, * mojt attractive offering, brought 25/7. On account of Mr H. Parsons, Wanstead, an entry of 262 nicelygrown fat and forward particularly well-done hlack-faced lambs in exceptional order and clearing a good perccntage of killabie sorts realised 22/11, this being the top price this season. On account of Taumutu Station, 563 well-grown shorn white-faced wether lambs in quite good order were passed at 17/7. From the same source, 240 Well-done black-faced lambs, in forward Order, having been on rape for three weeks, and in attractive order, were passed at 21/6. On" account of Mr J. L. StoddaTt, Wanstead, 383 woolly white-faced wether lambs in medium to good order, % useful hold-over proposition, made 18/9,
On account of the same vendor 168 similarly-bred smaller-growrn woolly 'lambs made 15/1. On account of Mr A. H. Hope, 260 small-grown woolly wether lambs in light condition, but in healthy order, brought 15/7. On account of Mr F. Smith, Otane, 156 medium-grown black-faced rape lambs, in quite good order, realised 19/2. On account of E. McClennan, Porangahau, 260 early-shorn lambs, well grown and • in forward order, brought 18/7. The lambs have been well done and were in fresh condition, an attractive entry. On account of Mr T. O'Connor, Porangahau, 180 late-shorn medium-grown white-faced lambs in quite fair order brought 15/10. v * On account oi the same vendor the tops out of this draft, well grown in forward store condition, an attractive, healthy line, realised 18/8. On account of Mr G. Olliver, Poragahauj 83 shorn ewe lambs, somewhat unoven, small grown and in light conditicui, brought4 19/6 in a slow sale. jfc entry of 86 6-year-old ewes, well frained and fair mouthed, being a useful lot for a further season 's breeding, brought 25/-. On account of Mr . G. H. Ahnett, Wilder Settlement, 102 extra-well grown carly-shorn particularly welldone white-faced wether lambs topped the market in a brisk competition to make 19/4, , : ! ; Sixty-six aged ewes in poor condition' were slow to sell at 13/9. On account of Mr J. L. Stoddart, Wanstead, a splendid line of shorn white-faced wether lambs were sought after to sell at 19/2. An entry of 5 and 6-year-old ewes, very poor mouthed, brought 18/9.
