GORDON WALKER, LTD.

The exceptional values obtaining for porkers and dairy stock were features of Gordon Walker, Ltd.'s weekly market sale, held on Saturday last before a splendid attendance of bayera. There were f'ull yardings in all sections. Poultry values were very firm on lato rates, with all grades of cockerels and pullets in strong demand. Local and export buyers were operating in excess of schedule prices for porkers and 1 baconers and then could not' fill their requirements despite the heavy yarding. The speeial entry of dairy stock came forward in splendid condition and sold at top rates to'spirited competition. All sundries sold at most satisfactory prices. Values realised were as follow: — Poultry. — Table birds 1/10 to 6/6, W.L. hens 1/10 to 2/5 and 1/3 to 2/-, W.L. cockerels 1/6 to 3/-, small 9d to 1/3, W.L. pullets' 3/- to 4/9, B.O. hens 2/7 to 3/6, B.O. cockerels 2/9 to 3/10, small 1/6 to 2/3, B.O. pullets 4/- to 5/-, others (hens) 1/10 to 2/10, cockerels 1/6 to 2/9, pullets 3/- to 4/-, budgies 9/-, ducklings 6d to 1/-, ducka 3/6 to 6/6 per pair. Pigs — Weaners 15/- to £1 5/- and 9/to 16/-, slips 16/- to £1 6/-, stores £1 3/- to £1 10/6, light porkers £1 6/6 to £1 13/-, porkers £1 9/- to £1 19/-, heavy porkers £2 2/- to £2 10/6, baconers £2 s/- to £2 19/-, sows at £2 17/6. Dairy stock. — J cow £7, 1 at £6 10/-, 2 at £4 15/-, 1 at £4 10/-, 2 at £4 5/2 at £4; horse £1 10/-. Sundries included men's cycles £2 5/co £4 15/-, copper £2, lawnmowers 15/to £1 15/-, set tubs £1 10/-, 30 heaps rimber 13/- to £l 5/-, beap iron £12/6,' 10 heaps timber o/- to 15/-, sheep dog 1 o/-, cow covers 6/- to 10/6, 6 cream cans 10/- to 17/-, 12 at 3/- to 8/-, gumboots 8/6, broom 3/6, hay knife 5/-, scythe 9/C, bath 7/-, dippers 1/6, hamas 4/6. step ladder 6/-. Produce, includinjr fruit, tomatoef. and potatoes, sold at vendors' rates.
