Sawyer were to leava Waipawa, and expressed appreciation of their many servicef. Tue remarxs of Mr. Harker were heartily endorsed by Messrs. F. M. Tickner (Waipawa Savage lCub) and A. E. Jull. Mr. Sawyer was the reeipient of a smoker 's companion from the Savage Club, and a well-filled wallet from the business people. Musical honours . were accorded. . , ■ *' Mr. Sawyer in reply.. said he hoped on many occasions in the -f utufe to haVe the oportnnity of renewing the f riendships which had been made. From the members of* the - staff of - the post office, Mr. Sawyer received a handsome ' presentation case containing a fountain pen and propelHng pencil. Mr. H. Hawke has been appointed to succeed Mr. W. A. Sawyer. Mr. Hawke is at present filiing the position of supervisor at the Tauranga Post Office. Mr. Sawyer has left for Marton, where he will take over the duties of .postmaster. - ■
