Mrs E. A. Chesterman
The death occurred at Sherenden yesterday of Mrs. E. A. Chesterman at the agc- of 92 years, Mrs. Chesterman was born in Goulburn, New South Wales, in November, I84p. When about 22 years old she came to New Zealand, residing flrst at Thames and later at Kaneiri, near Hokitika, She was in Hokitika at the time of the famous gold rush there. Mrs. Chesterman came to Hastings about 25 years ago, aud had lived with aer daughter, Mrs, J. B. Boyd, Sherenden, ever since. Mrs. Chesterman was twice married By the first marriage she leaves two suns, Mr, H, Wxlixams, pf Kelburn, Wellington, aud Mr. Frederick Williams, of South Westland, A daughter, Mrs. Frank Ifeece, of Melbourne, predeceased her, There were five sons by the secoxxd marriage — Messrs. Frank and Thomas Chesterman, Hokitika, Mr. Arfhur Chesterman, Hamilton, Mr. George Chesterman, Wellington, the late Mr. Oharles Chesterman, Hastings —and two daughters- — Mrs. J. ° B. Boyd, of Sherenden, and Mrs. Elizaboth Priest, of Australia. The funeral will leave her late residence, Sherenden, at 12.30 on Sunday afternoon, and interment will take place at the Hastings cemetery at 2 p.m.
