Eleven Acres at Muriwai

GISBORNE, Jan. 21.
An area of land at Muriwai, Gisborne, originally of 19 acres, has grown by accretion to 30 acres. The gain is due to the action of the sea in throwing up spoil on the beach. This was revealed at yeslerday's meeting of the Cook County Council by Cr. F. S. Bowen, who mentioned that the Muriwai beach wa®' becoming more and more popular. The council should invCstigate the state of its titles at Muriwai and, if the actual area showed any material gain, they should make application. for the issue of a title in their nama. "This is valuable land, but to-day it is nobody's land," stated Cr. Bowen. "It is neither European nor Native land." It was decided that the engineer should investigate the possibility of having a title to the accretions issued to the council,
