WAJNttAJNUl, Jan. 2U. First-class prices were realised yesterday at tbe dispersal sale of Mr. John Donald's Westmere thoroughbred stud. Tbirty-five lots were disposed of, tbe tptal realisation being L5.710 guineas. Tbe stud. leader, the nine-year-old lmported stallion Beau l^ere, by Son-in-Law, was knocked down at 3300 guineas, tbe purchase being made on behalf of Mr. W." J. Smith for his new stud at Scone, New South Wales. Bidding on behalf of Mr. M. G rogan, an employe© of Mf. Donald's, wlio is openuig a stud at Westmere on his own account, JMr. Alec Chisholm, Southland, bid spiritedly for Beau £ere, be and Mr. Smith' s representative baving tbe contest to tllemselves wben tbe money got high but tbe Australian representative was determined to acquire Beau Rere. Tbe otber stajlion, Phaleron Bay, by Pbaralis, was acquired by Mr. Chisholm for Mr. Grogan at 1600 guineas. Tbe bigbest price for a brood mare was 900 guineas paid by Mr. J. D. Ormond, Hastings, for tbe six-year-old Limond mare Prestige, full-sister to the New Zealand Derby winner Honour and half-sister to Heritage. A colt by Beau Pere went with Prestige. The 35. lots were disposed of in approximately 90 minutes. The average price for- tbe 33 brood mares offered was 335 guineas. Approximately 700 attended the sale, including many Australian buyets, and bidding was ppirited,
