"The Daily Telegraph' s" navsl cotrespondent states that the huge Seletar naval dock at Singapore, which will be capable of taking 60,000-ton ships, will be ready in July. A total of £10,000,000 will he expended by 1939, when the entire base will be completed, making Seletar the best defended and best equipped nayal base east of Suez. Singapore may eventually become th« headquarters of a new Paeifio fleot, including "ships provided by the . Dominions. Neither Britain nor the Dominions can be satisfied with the exiit* ing state of the Commqnwealth's PacL fic defences.
