HOTEL INCIDENT Perilous Excursion Throughj Building PROPRIETRESS ALARMED A bull wkick made a perilous excursion through tke Mokaka Hotel building and finally was removed with difficulty from the bathroom cansed some alarm to the proprietres, Mrs. A. H. McArthy, aild slight damage to wallpaper when it siipped and fell on tke poilsked floor or tke hall The animal was being "dogged'; out of the backyard of the hotel on Monday and on being cornered xt rushed through the back door of the building in ordcr to escape its tormentors, It first eneneountered trouble when it stood on a matf on the higkly-poiished floor of the hall. The mat siipped and threw the bull heavily against a bedroom wai!, to the consternatiou of Mr. McArthy^ who, being indisposed, was lying dowa in the bedroom. It was at this stage tkat Mrs. McArthy met the intruder in tke kalk Ske made a kasty retreat to another bedroom, from wkick ske watched the unwelcome visitor enter tke bathroom. In tke meantime several Maoris had followed tke bull into tke building, bttt none appeared very much inelined to go into tke bathroom to discuss the situation with tke bull, dsepite the fact tkat ke was standing quite quietly with his head over the hand-basin peering out through the bathroom window. After a hurried conference, the Maoris decided to shift the attack to the bathroom window, but sticks and abuse hurled through this aperture failed to have any effect.
