N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS
Postponement a Possibility The junior and intermediate New Zealand swimming championships, whiob were to haVe been held last Saturday, have now been postponed to the Easter weelt-end, because of the infantile paralysis epidemic. Adviee to this effeot was received at the meeting of the Hawke's Bay Swimming Centre last night, "It seems to me that it is better to hold them at Easter than not at all/' said'the chairman, Mr I. A. Rainbow, "and as Easter is a holiday, it won't affect our junior and intermediate swimmers." It was decided to approve the date. The position in regard to the senior championships is still in doubt, and tho Health Department is at present dubious regaiding the matter. A definite statement is expected shortly, and in the meantime the conference of eentres will be held at New Plymouth on February 8. The conference, however, will be eancelled should the antborithrs reguira the meeting to he postponed or abandoned.
