ENJOYABLE AFTERNOON AT OTANE INSTITUTE

The monthly meeting of 'the Otane - Women 's Institute was hfeld in the; Town Hall #R Friday afternoon, Mrs R. H. Tod presiding over a good attendance of members. The thought f ot the month was: "The old order • changethj yielding to the new. " / Yocal items were cdntributed by Mesdames Smith and Minto. An amusing competition, arranged by Mrs Bull. was won by Mrs Tod, Mrs Harbottle bemg runner-up/ Games, community singingand a recitation of children 's humorous sayings were other items that helped to make the afternoon a very, happy and enjoyable one. A delicious afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames E. Stafford. Symmans,, F. Smith and Miss Smith, the proceedings closing with the singing of the National" Anthein. The children 's Christmas party, which was postponed; is to be held at a later data .
