LITERATURE PRIZE
The Committee of the Femina Vie Heureuse, which gives a yearly prizo for a work of imagination, has begun its sittings in Paris. Books are being read and reports are made on them. When the French prize has been chosen, a set of books is selected to be sent to th© London committee, so that it can enoOse the on© to be awarded th© English prize. It is not so much the money value of these prizes that is coveted by young writers as the publicity they hring in their train. The prize is usually translated, the English book into French and the French book into Fngiish. Mary Webb, • Rosamund Lehmann and Margaret Kennedy are among the Engiish women who have been given prizes by the Femina Vie Heureuse committee. Among the French jwriter* who hav© ween gfiven the prize ,jn England are Jean Giono, Suzanne Lenormand and Julian Green.
