H.B. WOMEN'S CLUB OPENS
The women of Hawke's Bay will be pleased once again to have their own club. It is situated in the T. and G. buildiug on the Marino Parade, Napier, and is ideally fitted for the purpose. Yesterday afternoon, despite very heavy Tain, close on eighty women as- ' sembled for the offieial opeuing. Mrs Dudley Kettle, president, introduced Mrs T. H. Lowry, Okawa, who is the only life member of the club and who, in the course of an exeellent speeeh, Faid it gave her very great pleasure to declare the club open. The rooms were most artistcally decorated by Mrs R. I. Sutton with flowers in pink and cyclamen toning. Afternoon tea was given by the proAdsional committee which. started working for this club in February of last year, the personnel of the committee being Mesdames R. D. Kettle, president, C. P. H. Pollock (who has acted as honorary secretary for the p,ast year), J. N. Lowry, J. Gatenby, F. N. Fusseil. W. G. Wood, S. Seoullar, 13. Cornford, J. P. Leahy, H. Humpliries, Frank Gordon, P. Patullo and Carlile. Mrs Dudley Kettle thanked all members who had given donations or gifts in kind to the» club. The aim and object of the club is to get 100 members, or more if possible, and the club is to be ctarried on for the welfare of j Hawke's Bay.
