Sclected Clips and Their Values The trend of the market may be g&Uged from the following values for deseriptive lots covering a wide range Of Clips inspected on the show floors ili tbje v&ri'ous wool stores at Port Ahuriri:— From the Dannevirke district a elip, although a little tender, well grown, bold and bright, but l'ather low in quality, the type of wool that is in ^emafid to-day,-. made for AAA hoggets 17d, AA 183d, A l6|d, AA ewe fleeee 173 d, A 173d, pcs and bellies 133d, bellieS 12jd and A lambs 193d. In from Wanstead, a sound well-grown exceptionally nice line of wool brought for A hoggets 193d, the ewe fleeees making for A 18d, B 17d, and lst pcs 14|d- From Wharerangi, a useful elip with a tiice bit of Quality running through it, but a little dingy, made fof A hoggets 18d, The fleeees inade for A 161d, B 16|d, necks 153d, 1st pes 33|d, and bellies 32d. From the Waipawa district a well-classed and wellgrowii, sound in staple, average quality elip oi ewe fleece wools made for A 183d, B 183d, C 17d, D 16 Jd, 1st pcs I4|d, 2nd pcs lO^d, bellies .12id, CA
lambs 20fd, and B lambs 18d. In an average-quality Eskdale elip, wellgrown and sound, but a little dingy, A fleeees made 15fd, B 17d, crossbred 17d, 2nd pcs 17d, bellies 12d, A lambs 19d. A heavy-conditioned Wairoa elip off in colour and of low quality, the type in demand, made for A hoggets 18d, B 163d, C 16d, A fleeees 16d, B 163, G 163d, cotted 17fd and necks I4d. From Havelock North an attractive well-grown lot of fleece wool brought for A I7fd, B 36|d and lst pcs 133d. FrOm Weber was a nice bright line which, although not quite up to tho standard of the earlier offering of this elip, was a useful lot of ewe wool to oring for AA17d, A 173d, B 173d, lst pcs 14d, bellies 12|d and lst lambs 193d. From Patoka, as could be expected from this district, a quite good elip was Off in colour. Considering the class of country on which the sheep have to graze, the wool was a credit to the owner, being well grown, sound and carefully attended in the classing. It brought for- AA 174d, BBE 163d, BE 163d, O 153d, C!E 17id, BW 17id, necks 153d, lst pcs 13|d, bellies 123d, -ocks l03d and lambs 17d. From Gis-' borne, a partieularly flne elip which has alwaya enlisted excellent competition when offered for appraisement, was well up to the standard of previous years, as was evidenced by the keen competition and prices offered. The whole of the offering opened up attractively on the show-floor to make for A hogget 19d, 3-bd 173d, BH 183d, C 153d, D 16|d, H cofcs I54d, B ewe i6|d, 0 173d, D 163d, E x-bd 163d, necks 16|d, lst H pes 153d, lst E pcs i5|d and bellies 123d. The skirtings of a well-knowiT elip from the Waipukurau district commanded extreme prices for all lots offered, H necks making 16|d, necks 16d, lst H pcs. 143d, lst pcs. 143d, A lambs 21d and B lambs l9d. A rathef outstanding elip from the Weber district of high quality wool was eagerly sought after, and the prices must have been well up to the buyers' Hmits for all lots. The elip was partieularly wellgrowfi, being bright, sound in staple and light m condition. The AA hoggets brought 183d, A 173d, AA fleece 183d, A 18fd, lst pcs. 153d, bellies 13|d, 2nd lambs 163d, and crutehings 173d. A elip from Cape Runaway, light in condition, being nice and bright, made for A hoggets 193d, B 17d, A fleeees 17jd B 17d, and necks I3|d. A very fine line of lambs from a wellknown coast elip at Herbertville made for lst grade 21d and for 2nd 163d. From Wanstead a very attractive line of hoggets, being fine crossbred, made for the tops 2ld, and 183d for the next. From the same iocality, another line of well-grown, sound, soft-handling hoggets made for A 193d and for B l9d. In from Haumoana, an averagequality well-grown but rather dull elip was offered. The A hoggets biought 173d. The ewe fleeees made for A 163d, B 173d, C 163d, necks 153d, lst pes 143d and lst crutehings 163d. Froni the Maraekakaho district, a fairlygrown good top-making tyjie, quite well got up, in which the top ewe fleeees iiad already been sold, made for B 173d, O 173d, necks I6d, lst pcs 143d, bellies 123d, and 2nd pcs 13d. Down from the Wairoa district, a very rough, shabby and seedy elip made for B hoggets 153d, the ewe fleece making for &. 153d, B 143d, C 15d, lst pcs 113d. In a super elip from "Wallingford, ati extra good American styled line of hoggets, showy and attractive, the AA being 52 's, made 193d, A lS3d and B 17d. From Patoka, one of the few long-grown unshoi'n hoggets, Which were fairly^ clean, the A made 173d. The A ewe flefece in qtiite fair order brought 16|d. From near Wanstead, an average to good-quality, fairly soft handliiig but not vety attractive elip of ewe fleeees made for A 193d, B 173d, C 17 d, necks 163d, lst pcs 143d. £n a nice clean, 'stylish good American type of _ elip from Dannevirke the A hoggets, whieh were long grown, made V7|d. The ewe fleeees made for A 17fd, B 183d, lst pes 143d, and bellies 13d. From the Puketapu district an extra long-grown line of hoggets, which were shabby and unattractive, made for AA 173d, A l73d, AD l64d and pcs 14d. In what might be classed as an average to good Wairoa elip tho lioggets made. for A 173d, B 363d, D 163d. For. the fleeees A wether brought 173d, B 163d, A ewe 173d, B 163d, 0 173d, D 16d, Jst jpcs _H I5d, ,l#t pes . 18|d, t2ndjipesi
12d and bellies 123d. From Kopua a clean soft-handlmg long-grown line made for A hoggets 183d, A wether 18d, A ewe 173d and B 173d. From near the Blowhard a well-bred quite gopd-quality, soft-handling elip ,of ewe fleeees made for A 173d, B 163d, neeks 163d, lst pes 143d and bellies 123d. From Porangahau was a fairly clean and quite stylish well-classed and nicely-got-up elip. The A hoggets brought 18d and B 163d. A ewe bro-ugl$ 183d, B 173d, C 17*d, D ,123d and 2nd pcs 14d. Down from the Marumaru district, near Wairoa, a good useful elip, well classed, made for the AA hoggets of 52 's 183d, A 173d. The mixed fleeees of 48/46 's brought 173d, EW 163d, BE 163d, cots 173d, necks 16d, pcs 14|d, and bellies 12d. A shortgrown, quite fine quality Coast elip of a Continental type brought for D hoggets 173d. The top mixed fleece made 183d, the B 163d, DtW 16fd, DE 16|d, lst pcs 153d and bellies 124d. From near Fernhill, a elip from largely bought sheep, being an average topmaking line, but indifferent throughout, made for crossbred ewe 174d, AA 163d, A 173d, B 17d, C 18d, DY 153d, necks 15d, lst pcs 13|d, bellies 123d, 2nd pcs 13fd and locks 9fd. From Dannevirke, a fairly stronggrown, giood-quality and nice-styled American type brought for A hoggets 173d. The ©we fleeees made for A 183d. B 173d, XB 183d, and C 18d. From the same district a similarlybred but finer in quality and nicely styled elip, being a good Canadiaa type ranging to a super line, brought for the AA hoggets 17|d and A 163d. For the fleeees AA wether realised 183d, A 173d, AA ewe 18d and A l?3d. From the Ormondville district a good-styled, fairly clean elip mad© for the very fine Corriedale crossr A hoggets of 56's 203d, B 183d and C 18d. The mixed fleeees made 193d, BW 16|d, BE 163d, CCW 163d, CCE 16|d, cots 18d, A pcs. H 143d, A pcs 14d, B pcs. 13d, bellies 113d, locks lOd, and A lambs 173d. From Makotuku, one of the outstandi'ng clips in Hawke's Bay, well bred, excellently classed and of super quality, a top American-styled line, made for AA hoggets 203d, A 18fd, B 173d, and C 163d. The ewe fleeees made for A 183d, B 183d, C 18d, CC 17|d, CD 173d, cots 17|d, H necks 173d; E necks 163d, A pcs. H 153d, A pcs. 153d, B pcs. H 14d', bellies 123d, locks lOd, fairly short A lambs 19d and B 16d, From Te Aute district, a half-bred elip of good average-quality for Hawke's Bay made for the AA hoggets 19d, B 18|d, C 173d, A fleeees 19d, B 183d, 0 153d, A pcs. 15|d, B pcs. 123d, and bellies 12d. From near Hastings an avbrage te medium-quality elip, fairly well got up, m^de for AA ewe fleeees 163d, A 163d, B 173d, BB 16d, .0 173d, cots 173d, E 173d, necks 15d, lst pcs. 133d B pcs. 133d, bellies 113d and locks 9d. A large Gisborne elip of fine quality but touched with seed made for AA hoggets 19d, A 183d, CC 17d, A AD 183d and AD 17|d. The ewe fleeees brought for AA 17d, A 163d, B 163d, C 173d. seedy fleece 15d, H necks 163d, necks 153d, pcs. 14d, H bellies 13d, seedy necks and pcs. 133d, A lambs 18d, B 243d and seedy 113d.
