INVITATION TO ALL BLACKS
AUSTRALIA SEEKING VISIT
NEXT SEASON’S PROPOSAL.
ONLY BEST SIDE WANTED
MOVE BY NEW SOUTH WALES
(United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) Received 10.45 a.m. to-day. SYDNEY, June 20. The first step towards an invitation of an All Black team to Australia next season was taken by the management committee of the New So nth Wales Rugby Union last evening, when it was decided to ask the Rugby Unions of other States if they favoured approaching New Zealand with a view to obtaining a visit from the best New Zealand side available.
The “Telegraph” says that undoubtedly the move would be welcomed by Queensland and Victoria. The management committee's stipulation for the best New Zealand side available is interesting in view of the recent suggestion by Mr S. S. M. Dean, of the New Zealand Union, that a- Maori team be sent. New South Wales would rather have a full strength side.
