WELLINGTON, June 19. In eight rounds of clever clean wrestling Af Pereira (lost 101 b) defeated “Whiskers” Blake (lost 101 b) before a large audience at the Town Hall tonight by two falls to one. The contest was marked through-out by scientific wrestling and was devoid of showmanship. Pereira secured a fail 1 in the third round with severe head scissors and Blake evened in the sixth round with body scissors and headlock. Pereira secured the deciding fall in the eighth and final round with a, -back slam.

A very strenuous wrestling contest to witnessed to-night when Jack Patterson, America, drew with 'George Walker, New Zealand and British Empire champion. At the end of eight rounds each man had gained one fall, Patterson securing the first with a •press after lifting his opponent and dumping _him heavily. Walker evened in, the next remind with a slam following an aeroplane spin. Patterson put up an nnexneotedly fine resistance, especially in the final round, when he was almost contimiouislv fastened in ha.mmevlocks. The Hawera Wrestling Association has been successful in securing a match between Jack Patterson, who drew wit!; champion George Walker after a strenuous battle at Auckland last night, and the most popular wrestler ■n New Zealand to-dav. “Whiskers’ ’ Blake. Blake succeeded in defeating Al Pereira, in New Plymouth recently and was a very unlockv loser to Pereira, at Wellington last night. ’The 1 1 out will take place at the Hawera Qnera House on Wednesday. June 28.
