Since the departure of the Rangitata from Wellington on May 12 the Prime Minister and party have been supplied with a daily wireless ines-r-ag? containing New Zealand news. ’This was made possible by the fact ■that the Rangitata is equipped with a ■short-wave wireless' installation which enabled two-wav communication to be kent between the vessel and the radio station at Wellington throughout the whole period, of the jo-rney. “This,” ,sa : d Mr Hamilton, “mav be regarded 1 as' .striking evidence of the utility of modern wireless transmission, and is also an indication of the part that radio transmission continues to play in! ! removing much of the isolation former-i Ily associated with lengthy sea Toy-] 1 vges.”
