CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Rev. Basil Metson will conduct both ’-services at tlie Hawera Methodist Church to-morrow. The morning subject'will he “What’s,, in a name?” and the evening topic “Down in. the dumps.” The choir will sing the anthems “Jesu, Lover of Mv Soul,” and “The Radiant Morn.” Visitors and friends are cordially invited to attend. The Auroa Methodist Church anniversary services will be conducted tomorrow by Rev. H. Cottom at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. The annual tea and concert will he held in the Auroa Hall next Tuesday evening. The tea, which will commence at 6 o’clock, will be followed by a concert programme and social. ’The usual services • will be held tomorrow at the Hawera Baptist Church. The preacher will be the Rev. John lugs. The morning theme of meditation will be “Jesus Christ’s Standard for Our World” and in the evening service “A High Ideal Relinquished.” The Bible class will meet at 10 o’clock, the junior C.E. at the same hour and the Sunday school at 2.30. Strangers will be made welcome.
The Sunday special services •null be conducted at the Salvation Army Hall, T-laivera, by Adjutant Harold Mackenzie. At the morning service the an|>eal will be for a deewr spiritual life among believers in Christ, while the evening service will be a. call to the unconverted to seek the Saviour of the world. The 59th anniversary services of St John’s Church at Hawora will be held to-morrow at 11 a.m. and 7 p.rn. The sacrament of the Lord’s Snipper will be dispensed morning and evening, and the annual golden offering will he received. The sacrament will also ho dispensed at Mokoia at 2 p.m. The Rev A. CJ. Irvine will conduct these services.
