ROAD AND BEACH WORK SUGGFJ3TLQN 0E SCHOOL Owing to the cold weather the- fishing boats have not ueon out from Ohawe during the last few days, but intend starting again as soon as weather conditions permit. At the present time the members of the crews, under the smpar-viskm of Mr Ripone, are kept busy making improvements in the reserves. They have almost completed a good track from the main road to the Beach to the tap- of the hill overlooking the boat shed. They 7 intend making a. good track down- to the spring board in the river. Mr Ripone intends making other - improvements, which should prove a great benefit to visitors to tlie beach during the sea-son and of great assistance to the Beach Improvement Society. . The -relief workers are making good progress with the rock-s in the sea- front and {ire working early and late to- get the benefit of the spring tides during the next two months. A petition -signed by the residents of the education -reserve- has been forwarded to the Crown Lands- Commission, New Plymouth, asking to lia-ve the roads in the reserve formed and metal-led. A movement is on- foot by 7 the Ohawe residents to make some arrangements “or a. school at Ohawe. At present there are sufficient children of school ago at the bench and if the board could not arrange the school the parents of tlie- children, wish for -some means of transport for the children to the To-kaora School. The Minister of Education (the Hon. R. Masters) i-s to be apipro-a-clied on his a-et-u-rn from the Dondon- Conference. In the meantime steps will -be taken to have the matter dis-‘ cu-ssed and an application prepared.
