ROOSEVELT PLANS PASSED
-SUPPORT BY CONGRESS. CONCLUSION OF -SESSION. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright.; WASHINGTON, June 16. With final victory for President Roosevelt in the form of adoption of his plan for reduced war veterans’ benefits, after he had threatened veto of a more liberal proposal bitterly contended for by the Republicans, Congress at last accounted at an early hour this morning, having been in- extraordinary session since March 9. Mr Roosevelt’s programme was virtually enacted- in full, including such major measures as the Emergency Banking Relief and Banking Reform, the Beer, Government Economy, Agricultural Relief, Railway reorganisation and Industrial Recovery Bills. An appropriation of £691,800,000 was also passed.
