BRITISH CHANCELLOR’S VIEW FOREIGN COUNTRY INVESTMENT PRESENT TIME NOT FAVOURABLE ADVICE TO FINANCE HOUSES. (British -a! Wirelfcss.J Received 12 noon to-day. RUGBY, June 16. The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Mr Neville Chamberlain, in a letter to the secretary of the London Stock Exchange and to leading banks and financial houses, says Britain is not, in his judgment, at present in a position to invest large sums at long term in foreign countries, and he requests those to whom bis appeal is addressect to assist him in discouraging such transactions-.
