BRITISH TRADE INCREASING
FIGURES FOR, MONTH OF MAY

LONDON, June 14. British trade in May was. greater than in April, the increases being £6,143,000 in imports, £4,370,000- in exports and £282,000 in re-exports. Imports in May were £57,294,000, exports £30,765,000 and re-exports £3,820,000. When the May figures are compared with, those for May last year the principle increases seen are : Imparts.—-Meat £215,000, hides and skins £290,000, non-ferrous metal manufactures £304,000, oils and fats £335 000. Exports.—Cfoal £274,000, iron and steel ma.niufaetures thereof £368,000, non-ferrous metals £410,000. The principal decreases shown by a. comparison with last May’s figures are £333,C100 in the imports of living foods and animals and £672,000 in the exports of cotton yarns and manufactures.
