RESULTS OF SOUTHERN GAMES

In spite of the heavy rain which fell almost incessantly yesterday afternoon the South Taranaki mid-week hockey competition fixtures were played as arranged. Matches at King Edward Park in Hawera were played in a veritable duck-pond. T\m incentive was for players to indulge in fast open games in order to keep warm in the deluge. Eigmont defeated Manaia find retains its position at the top of the men’s senior championship ladder with four points to spare from Alhambra, which defeated Hawera. In the men’s junior championship Tokaora won by default from Eginont B and still lead by one point from Manaia, which defeated Whakamara. Eginont A beat Hawera. The ladies’ competition also was advanced a. further stage in a match in which Ramblers heat Tokaora. Detailed results were as follow: Senior Men.

Kgmont 7 v. Manaia 2. Alhambra 9 v. Hawera 1. Junior Men. Eginont A 5 v. Hawera 1. Manaia 4 v. Whakamara 0. Tokaora won by default from Egmont B. Ladies. Bamblers 1 v. Tokaora 0.
