PARTIES AT VARIANCE

FORMER. PREMIER SENT FOR

(United Vre:.s Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright.)

MADRID, June 12

Several efforts to interest the Socialist and Radical leaders in the formation of a. Cabinet have all failed because the parties have refused to cooperate with one another. President Zamora was finally compelled to ask Sonar Anzana, the former. Prime Minister. to form a new Cabinet.

REASON FOR. RESIGNATION

RELIGIOUS ORDERS BILT.

MADRID, June 9

Behind the resignation of the Spanish Government lies Senor Zamora’s disapproval of the Religious Orders Bill, which, it is understood, ho signed with the greatest reluctance. The passage of .the Bill, however, left him for the iirst time in possession of full Presidential powers under the Republican constitution, for the Bill completed the programme of legislation for which the present Parliament was elected on June 28, 1331.

It is believed in influential quarters that Senor Azana will return to the Premiership. ,
