On Sunday the Ven. Archdeacon F. G. Evans, of New Plymouth, celebrated the golden jubilee of his ordination as a .priest of the Church of England. He has spent 37 years in New Plymouth, having been vicar of St. Mary’s from 1398 to 1911 and archdeacon, of Taranaki until 1930. Previously he was vicar of Taktapuna, Thames and Te Aii-oha. He .still does work in the yariou's districts and on Sunday officiated at Rahot.u, Puniho and Fitzroy. In 1885 he was chaplain to the Thames Nairals and 'Rifles and since he came to New Plymouth he has been chaplain to the Tn/ra.ivaiki Rifles and to the Taranaki Regiment.
