OHRiTSTCHU.RSCH, June 12. Canterbury justices of the peace at a meeting of the executive of the association to-night discussed briefly the Minister’s statement at Christchurch that ho was considering the possibility of making more use of justices. All the speakers said that justices of vhe peace had no idea, that they should displace magistrates. Their idea was '■ather, that, as a great deal of the magistrates’ time was now taken rip with the bearing of cases which should mot occupy their time at all, they felt the services of justices might he used to lighten the burdens of the lnagjs l bnates.
