RETURNED SOLDIERS’ SOCIALS

OPERATIONS EXTENDED,

“INVASION” OF OKAIAWA

In response to requests of the returned soldiers resident in and around Okaiawa, the Social Committee of 'the South Taranaki Returned .Soldiers’ Association lias decided to extend its operations to that town to-morrow (Wednesday) night. Dress, mufti, greatcoats may be worn and are recommended for members of both sexes. “Zero hour” will he 8 o’clock sharp and the organisers require everyone ready to “go over” on the tick. If the “advance” is successful the committee will endeavour to “hold the ground” with or without reinforcements. All diggers should see that -they have ample “supports” and call on their friends for this. It is expected that a full “company” will take part and the participating “charge” is low although the “booty” to be collected remains as usual, but- there "will be no “canteen” at “recall.”

'The organisers realise that they require the greatest assistance from residents of the ”sector" to make a successful ‘ ‘sortie” and hope there will be no “no man's land” between Normanby and Kapuni or from Matapu to Inaha. It remains only for the local residents to give their full patronage to this venture to ensure a repeat at no distant date.
