PROHIBITION LECTURER.
REFUSED ACCOMMODATION. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. GR'EYMOUTH, Dec. 13. O. Lewis, licensee of Pear’s Hotel, Kuniara,, was charged to-day with refusing acommodation to J. F. King, prohibition lecturer, on October 22.
Evidence was given that King arrived .at Kuniara at 5.30 p.m., and asked a friend to arrange for a room at the hotel. This was not done till 10.30, when it was alleged Mrs. Lewis declined to have King on the premises. A later call was made, but the doors were not opened.
The Magistrate. Mr. Meld rum. dismissed the information on the grounds that King had shown a want of consideration in not applying for the room earlier and that “application’’ was not sufficient.
