STRONG HORSE SECTION
Since Saturday the total number of entries for the forthcoming A. and P. Slioav has sho\\ r n a further increase, the figures hoav having reached 1630. This total, to Avhieh still has to be added the post entries for jumping, looks promising Avhen compared with the 1569 entries received last year. The home industries section has receded >the greatest additions, no fewer than 111 entries having been received since Saturday. The horse scctioj* has increased by 60 entries anu sheep by 13.
Competition in the horse section will this year be very keen, as most of the horses Avhieh were present at the Royal ShoAv at Palmerston North will be seen in action at Haivera. The visitors include Miss I. Rutherford’s Kitty Machree, Miss A. Rutherford’s Rapid Stride, Mrs. A. J. Rutherford’s Red Light, Mr. G. D. Smith’s Muritai, Mr. F. Laird’s Hailstorm, and others too numerous to mention. The hack classes include the Avell-known champion, Mrs. Hugh Gillies’ Captain Glosson. Entries of Clydesdale horses have been received from as far north as New Plymouth and south a-s Waipukurau.
