MOTHER CHARGED WITH MURDER. . (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. DUNEDIN, iOct. 28. Immediately after the conclusion of the inquest into the death of Marguerita Elizabeth Hand’s child, the Police Court resumed its sitting and Hand was charged with having murdered her newly-born male child or. October 18 last. Accused was represented by Mr Hanlon. The evidence given by "each witness at the inquest was read over and admitted as evidence in the murder charge. The accused reserved her defence and was ■ committed to the Supreme Court lor trial. The magistrate agreed that under the circumstances no surety would be demanded, but the accused would have to remain under the control of the female probation officer.
