LOCAL INDUSTRY.
A,NEW CHAR-A-BANC. CREDITABLE PIECE OF WORK. The building of a fine new char-a-banc for Mr. W. C. Kelland has just been completed by a local firm, and on a trial run yesterday afternoon the vehicle proved itself to be possessed of exceptional easy-riding qualities. The body work and upholstering was done by Messrs. Hurrell Bros., of Ha.wera, and is , a distinct credit to those tradesmen and to our local industry, the job being declared by those who examined it yesterday afternoon to be an excellent sample of such work. Finished in champagne colour and lined in brown the vehicle is given a distinctly attractive appearance, while the upholstering, staining and varnishing' work inside further adds to this impression. The engine and chassis, which was provided by the Farmers’ Co-op. Organisation Society, is of the “International" make, and the length of springs over both the front and rear wheel, together with the large-sized tyres are factors responsible fpr the easy riding qualities which the eliar-a-banc possesses. Mr. Kelland is 1o be congratulated upon securing such a fine vehicle with which to carry on his service.
