WOMAN’S PLIGHT IN SYDNEY. AWFUL WAY OUT. by cable -eausH assocjation —copyright SYDNEY, Oct. 3. Mrs Ruby Diamond, aged 34, a native of New Zealand, who, it is stated, was recently divorced from her husband, and who. was staying at the Grand Hotel, died from the effects of poison. A maid saw her ill in a passage and asked the cause, Mrs Diamond replying: “F don’t feel well. I have got a bill in my room and no money to pay it. I have taken something I bought for a dog.” She died shortly after removal to hospital. According to the police deceased suffered with insomnia, and was in the habit of taking narcotics.
