(BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION ) DUNEDIN, Oct. 1. An old-age pensioner named Robert Colquhoun Clarke, for a false statement to the Pensions Court regarding his'income, was fined £25. He had an income of £136, but represented that he had none.

The Magistrate characterised the action as deliberate fraud, stating that no doubt there were many abuses of the provisions ■in regard to' pensions. The pensioner had agreed to refund the amount.
