WESTFIELD MARKETS. (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, Sept. 24. At Westfield there was an average yarding of beef, which sold at late quotations. Extra choice ox, 34s per lOOlbs; choice and prime, 29s to 335; plain and unfinished, 23s to 28s; prime young cow and heifer, 27s to 30s; other cow, 22s to 265; rough beef, 12s to 20s; heavy prime steers, £l2 10s to £l4 10s; medium, £lO to £l2; ss; light, £8 10s to £9 17s 6d; smaller and unfinished, £5 17s 6d to £7 17s 6d; heavy prime c-ows and heifer, £7 17s 6d to £9. 10s v lighter, £7 to £7 15s; light, £5 10s to £6 17s 6d; others £2 10s to £5 os.
Sheep.—Small numbers, keen competition and improved values. Heafy nrime wethers (woolly), 45s to 48s 6d; shorn, 38s to 39s 3d; medium woolly. 42s fid to 44s 9d; shorn, 35s 9d to 37s 9d ; light woolly, 40s to 42s 3d; shorn, 34s to 35s 6d; small and unfinished woolly, 37s to 39s 9d; shorn, 29s to 335; heavy and medium prime ewes, woolly, 36s to'39s; shorn, 32s to 355; light woolly, 33s to, 35s 9d; shorn, 28s to 31s 9d; prime hoggets, woolly, 35s 6d to 40s 6d; shorn, 30s to" 335; others (woolly), 25s to 345. Spring lambs. —Larger numbers and values easier. Best, 29s to 355; others 21 x Id to 28s 9d. Calves. —A large yarding. Prices firm at last quotation. Runners, 88s to 105 s 4d; heavy vealers, 65s -4d to 81s; medium, 50s to 61s; light, 35s to 495; smaller, 23s to 325; small and fresh dropped, 3s to 21s; rough, 25s to 32 s. 'Pigs.—An average number. Prices easier, except for porkers, which sold at late rates. Choppers, 60s to 78s; heavy and medium baconers, 7Ss to 85s; light baconers and heavy porkers, 48s 4d to 58s. Store Pigs.—A small yarding with keen competition. Large, 37s to 48s; slips, 30s to 355; tveaners. 15s to 355; weaners, 15s to 28s. / MARKET REPORTS. The Farmers’ Co-op. Organisation Society of NewJZealahd, Ltd., report:— . A.t InglewcOd on Wednesday, the 25th inst., we report a good yarding, but owing to weather conditions prices were lower than previous sales. We quote: Forward cows £2 11s to* £3 15. s ; stores, 25s to £2 7s; good yearling heifers, £2 4s to £2 13s; smaller do., 19s to 32s 6d, Dairy pens: Best dairy heifers, £5 to £6; medium, £3 10s to £4 10s; more backward sorts £2 to £3; dairy cows, £5 5s to. £6 10s. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. (Hawera branch) report:— At. E:l.tham on the 24th inst. we had a good yarding. There was a good attendance of buyers and a satisfactory sale resulted. We quote: Fat* cows to £7 7s 6d • stores and boners at late rates; fat ewes, 36s 6d to 37s 9d; good springing heifers £lO to £ls 5s ; medium do. , £5 to £9 15s; good and medium backward sorts. £4 fo £7 10s. On the 25th instant we held our usual fortnightly Hawera sale. -To a big attendance of buyers we again offered a good yarding, particularly of dairy cattle.
