A motor car was conveying an inflated ballon to its starting place when telegraph wires severed the rope, and tfle balloon rose ,with Dumortier, the aeronaut, ■ and fan assistant clinging to the rope. Dumortier soon released the rope and fell, and he died from injuries.; The assistant was carried a thousand feet'and’then fell and was killed. ; .
